The Climate Solution:
What's the problem?
If we continue to pollute our world as we have done for the last two hundred years, the atmosphere will heat up faster and faster. If we reach a 1,5°C global warming above the long-time average, scientists predict, that the climate change will eventually become out of control.
This would be the point of no return.
It's a Challenge for Humanity
All our Reforestation Projects pursue a holistic approach to reforestation and ecological restoration.
- Our national leaders cooperate with villages that are committed to restoring their forests.
- We then hire and train local villagers to plant new trees.
- They plant native tree species.
- The villages protect their new forests because they have a vested interest in them.
- The survival rate of our high-quality seedlings is over 80%. It is even higher when hybridized with local seedlings.
A Contribution to end Poverty.
VILLAGERS MANAGE OUR NURSERIES & PLANTING SITES:
We start by hiring local villagers to plant trees. This gives them a consistent income so they can provide for their families again. As the reforestation effort goes on, healthy forests begin to emerge and the negative effects of deforestation begin to disappear.
The destruction of healthy forest systems causes so many different problems. Trees provide a habitat for animals, purify water sources, control flooding and erosion and help to replenish the soil with nutrients needed for farming. When farmers can’t grow anything their farms fail and they have no option but to move to already overcrowded cities looking for work. Often they have no option then selling themselves or members of their families into slavery just to survive.
Our Non-Profit-Organization reached the first 250Million Tree Goal.
A groundbreaking reforestation announcement from Steve Fitch, the CEO of Eden Reforestation Projects - You have helped plant 250 million trees throughout all of our project nations. Thank you!
